Iranian-Americans contribute to a land art performance in support of Iranian protests on December 31st, 2022 in Rockville, Maryland 

Anti government ​protests in Iran and abroad have started after Amini died in morality police custody in Iran after being detained for allegedly not wearing a headscarf (hijab) “properly” in public​. Morality police is responsible for enforcing Iran’s strict dress code for women, including the wearing of the headscarf in public. Until now (December 22, 2022) the Islamic Republic of Iran have killed at least 500 and arrested at least 18000 Iranians.
