The 14th DC Saturdays protests to support Iranian people
After more than three months, Iranian Americans along with some non Iranians still continue to protest across Washington, D.C. in 2023 demanding regime change in Iran.
The 14th protest was hold on Sunday January 8, 2023 -instead of Saturday-because of the anniversary of the murder of the innocent passengers of Flight PS752 that was shot down by Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
These weekly demonstrations are in solidarity of the people of Iran following almost three months of unrest.
Protesters marched from Lincoln Memorial towards the Interests Section of Islamic Republic of Iran on January 8, 2023.
Anti government protests in Iran and abroad have started after Amini died in morality police custody in Iran after being detained for allegedly not wearing a headscarf (hijab) “properly” in public. Morality police is responsible for enforcing Iran’s strict dress code for women, including the wearing of the headscarf in public.
