The 15th DC Saturdays protests to support Iranian people
After 4 months, Iranian Americans along with some non Iranians still keep protesting across Washington, D.C. every Saturday against the Islamic Republic Of Iran. These weekly demonstrations are in solidarity of the people of Iran following almost 4 months of unrest.
At the 15th protest on January 14, 2023 protesters marched from Freedom Plaza towards the White House, demanding regime change and human rights for Iran.
I’ve been shooting these protests from day one. And I would say there are sometimes when I’m about to say the next protest would be the last one, but I see wow! It’s not the end of the story; it’s just the beginning! The 15th protest on January14th, 2023 showed that the protests against Islamic Republic in Washington, D.C. are still happening even better than day one!
Anti government protests in Iran and abroad have started after Mahsa Amini died in morality police custody in Iran after being detained for allegedly not wearing a headscarf (hijab) “properly” in public. Morality police is responsible for enforcing Iran’s strict dress code for women, including the wearing of the headscarf in public.
