Iranian-Americans, along with some non Iranians gather in Lincoln Memorian on February 11, 2023 in Washington D.C. to protest against the Islamic Republic Of Iran and in solidarity of the people of Iran following more than 5 months of unrest. At the 19th protest, some other protesters joined them from some states in the east coast of the US. Protesters marched from Lincoln Memorial towards the White House and the US Capitol building. Anti government protests in Iran and abroad have started after Mahsa Amini died in morality police custody in Iran after being detained for allegedly not wearing a headscarf (hijab) “properly” in public. Morality police is responsible for enforcing Iran’s strict dress code for women, including the wearing of the headscarf in public.
